ALERT!!

I have received many requests from Jerusalem Prayer Team members asking about
President-Elect Obama’s foreign policy team and if it would be good for
Israel.

One of the first appointments is General James Jones as National Security
Advisor. I first met General Jones in Jerusalem several months ago. Secretary
of State Condoleezza Rice appointed General Jones as special envoy for Middle
East Security on November 28, 2007. She called Jones a key component in
formulating U.S. policy between the U.S. and Israel. Jones has been working
with the Israelis and Palestinians to strengthen security for both sides. Under
Secretary Rice, Jones’ role was monitoring the development of Palestinian
security services, and working closely with the U.S. security coordinator for
the Palestinians. Rice made her announcement of Jones’ appointment during
the Annapolis Summit, which I attended. The plan is to divide Israel, Judea and
Samaria and establish East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian
Authority. This cannot be done without implementation of the Shelf Agreement
formulated during the Annapolis Summit. General Jones will be as strong in his
position for President Obama as Henry Kissinger was for Richard Nixon.

The second appointment is that of Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. She
is 100 percent in favor of a Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its
capital. She proposed that as First Lady and will now work aggressively with
General Jones to implement it.

President-elect Obama has appointed Daniel Kurtzer, a former U.S. ambassador to
Egypt and Israel, as his top Middle East advisor and U.S. envoy to the Middle
East. Kurtzer was seen in Jerusalem as one of that nation’s greatest foes
in Washington. He came under fire last summer when he attempted to fast track
negotiations with Israel aimed at withdrawing from the Golan Heights. My first
experience with Kurtzer was in 1988 when I confronted Yasser Arafat at the U.N.
General Assembly meeting in Geneva where he disputed that the PLO had planned
scores of attacks against the West.

They have discontinued PT as she is not making any progress. We are
scheduled to have a family meeting in the next 10 days to get their
recommendation.

Hopefully, we can keep her at Delmar Gardens (they are awesome) and move her
to the skilled nursing section. I think she realizes she won’t be coming
home.

But she talks about her goal of being home by Christmas. She gets a chest
x-ray on Monday to see if her cancer is still in remission. She is happy
most of the time and everybody adores her. She does brighten up the spirits of
those who are really down. We will know much more probably the end of
next week.

Thanks for keeping her in the prayer chain. We sure couldn’t have gotten
through the last year and a half without all of those wonderful prayers from
around the world.

India (MNN) —Last week, Gospel for Asia sent out a report that missionary N. Chauhan had been beaten and abducted by Hindu extremists in Madhya Pradesh, India. The very next day, Chauhan narrowly escaped the clutches of his captors.

Chauhan was questioned about his ministry by extremists in a marketplace, and he was then dragged off to a house to be beaten. After refusing to stomp on the Bible when commanded to do so, Chauhan was beaten several more times.

Concerned about Chauhan’s absence, GFA leaders tried to contact him. The extremists had taken his cell phone and answered the call saying, “The same thing is going to happen to you!”

The extremists later attempted to deal with Chauhan by taking him near a road at night to meet their leader. After he had been untied to relieve himself, Chauhan quickly made his escape, running nine miles to the home of another believer and losing his abductors behind him.

Chauhan is now safe, but the unmitigated attack on a believer in India somewhere other than Orissa is disheartening. Anti-Christian attacks, originally thought to be constrained to Orissa state, have been spreading at increasing rates to surrounding areas. Christians have been beaten in Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, where a church has also been forcibly shut down. Believers have also been threatened by death in Delhi and Maharashtra for meeting and passing out Christian literature.

This expansion of violence is especially discouraging because, as GFA President K.P. Yohannan puts it, “extremists are becoming more and more brazen in their attacks.”

GFA has not lost hope, however, and praises God that Chauhan is safely back. Please continue to pray for the protection of his family, as well as the protection of thousands of other at -risk Christians in India.

The news that AIG is now promoting Shariah-compliant products in America is spreading fast. Our friend and colleague Jeffrey Imm has been writing about this for some time now. His commentary below provides additional insight into this situation.

In his commentary he urges us, as taxpayer owners of AIG, to make our disapproval of AIG’s entanglement with Shariah known. We agree. Because of the government bailout of AIG we are all “shareholders” now.

There are two things you can do. First, read Mr. Imm’s commentary below. Second, either call AIG or sign the online petition – or both. The preferred course of action is to place a phone call. If you can’t make the time to call today, do so on Monday or Tuesday next week.

AIG Defies U.S. Taxpayers by Promoting Sharia in America

For the third month in a row, AIG is in the news regarding its promotion of Sharia-compliant finance (SCF) products,
which promote the Islamic supremacist, segregationist ideology of Sharia. For a company struggling with its financial survival, it remains astounding that AIG would want to incite its American taxpayer owners by promoting products that are based on an Islamic supremacist political ideology. In October 2008, I wrote how the U.S. government gave an $85 billion loan to AIG, without demanding divestment of its business ventures reselling Sharia mutual trusts and its AIG Takaful division selling Sharia-based insurance. In November 2008, I wrote about how the U.S. government purchased $40 billion in AIG stock, making you as a taxpayer, an owner of a company promoting Sharia through such businesses.

For two months, I have warned that AIG’s Takaful division was planning to expand to offer such AIG-specific Sharia products here in the United States. Now AIG has announced that it has Sharia-based insurance products for the United States, and AIG is promoting them.

On December 1, 2008, AIG announced that it was “introducing a Takaful Homeowners Policy, the first installment in Lexington Takaful Solutions, a series of Shari’ah-compliant (Takaful) product offerings in the U.S. The newly announced Takaful products are compliant with key Islamic finance tenets and based on the concept of mutual insurance.” Note that AIG indicates that such Sharia insurance products are the “first installment” in a series of Sharia products. In the AIG press release, AIG Takaful’s Abdallah Kubursi expresses his pride in AIG’s ability to promote Sharia within the United States, stating “This is truly a global effort on the part of AIG.”

This is our company, using our taxpayer dollars, to promote Islamic supremacist Sharia-based products in our country. As we are $40 billion owners in AIG, this is our problem as Americans. What is our government and AIG going to do about this?

First, let’s remember what Sharia is and is not.

Sharia is a legal codification of the political ideology of Islamic supremacism. This Sharia legal codification is intended to enforce discriminatory and segregationist practices against women and non-Muslims and to suppress the liberties of those living in Islamic theocracies. As a legal codification of a supremacist ideology, Sharia is incompatible with democratic values and the inalienable human right that “all men are created equal.” In 2001, nearly two months before the 9/11 attacks, the European Court of Human Rights determined that Sharia law was incompatible with democracy and human rights. The President of the European Court of Human Rights stated that “the Court found that sharia was incompatible with the fundamental principles of democracy as set forth in the Convention… Principles such as pluralism in the political sphere or the constant evolution of public freedoms have no place in it. According to the Court, it was difficult to declare one’s respect for democracy and human rights while at the same time supporting a regime based on sharia…”. Even British courts have ruled that Sharia is “discriminatory.”

In a nation such as the United States, based on the inalienable human rights of equality and liberty, why would American taxpayers seek to fund a business selling products that promote a discriminatory, segregationist, and supremacist ideology that is “incompatible with democracy and human rights”?

Sharia is not merely “cultural beliefs,” “religious beliefs,” or “social preference.” In the AIG press release, AIG’s Abdallah Kubursi would have Americans believe that the goal of promoting such Sharia products is to expand “social preference.” But America has rejected those who would label supremacist values as “social preference,” just as they rejected white supremacists who once called for racial segregation and discrimination. America’s society, businesses, government, and law rejects supremacist ideologies. Just ask President-Elect Barack Obama.

This is the same Sharia ideology that has been used by the Islamic supremacist Taliban to murder those who they believe have committed moral crimes, the same Sharia ideology that was used to murder a 13 year old girl last month who was raped in Somalia, and the same Sharia ideology supported by the Taliban, Al Qaeda, and Islamic supremacists around the world. It is the same Sharia ideology whose zakat charities have been used to fund jihadist terrorist organizations. On September 18, 2008, Congressman Tom Tancredo’s office introduced “Jihad Prevention Act” (H.R. 6975). According to the press release from his office on this bill, “the legislation would make the advocacy of Sharia law by radical Muslims already in the United States a deportable offense.”

But now American taxpayer dollars are being used to promote products based on Sharia?

In fairness to AIG, there are many who do not understand the political Islamic supremacist nature of Sharia.

Stop Sharia Now (FAQ item 17) provides a quote regarding an “Islamic Finance conference” in New York City where an attendee asked the meaning of Sharia. One of AIG’s Sharia advisors, Sheik Nizam Yaquby, ambiguously responded by stating that “Shariah is the path on which we walk, the water which we drink.” Those of us who are aware that Sharia is a legal codification for all aspects of Islamic supremacist life grasp what Yaquby was trying to communicate; certainly none of the supremacist aspects of Sharia was communicated by Yaquby. It is then reported that “Not one person in the room followed up with a question. The group went back to looking at flowcharts and graphs.” So it should be little surprise that few people involved with Sharia finance products actually understand the ramifications of promoting Islamic supremacist Sharia.

To give AIG an opportunity to respond to this, I called the individual listed on AIG’s press release for its Sharia Takaful Homeowners Policy, Jim Crain, and talked to him about the AIG product. My impression is that AIG’s Jim Crain is a businessman, and I got the distinct feeling that he was uncomfortable with being named as the AIG point of contact on a product with political connotations. I told AIG’s Jim Crain about the online petition signed by over 100 individuals calling for the Federal Reserve Board and the Department of Treasury to call for AIG to divest itself of its Sharia businesses. I also told AIG’s Jim Crain about how the Islamic supremacist Taliban and other groups are seeking to promote Sharia.

AIG’s Jim Crain told me that he had no comment on AIG’s Sharia product linkage to the Islamic supremacist Sharia ideology, but stated that with “this business venture” it was not AIG’s intent “to enter into the political arena at all.” Jim Crain stated that he did understand that Sharia is viewed as a political ideology, and commented “that is becoming more apparent as the days go on.” (I would conclude from this that I was not the first person who has called Jim Crain about this.) He stated that “it is entirely possible” that the public is going to think that AIG is taking a political position that is pro-Sharia. Jim Crain concluded our discussion by stating “I am going to pass your concerns on to our senior management and legal.”

Now it is your turn. American taxpayers own $40 billion worth of AIG stock. This is your company and your responsibility to contact AIG about both its Sharia finance businesses and its efforts now to promote Sharia-based insurance in the United States.

Let AIG’s Jim Crain know that the calls he has gotten thus far complaining about AIG’s Sharia based business is the tip of the iceberg. Jim Crain’s phone number and email address are provided on the AIG press release to discuss AIG’s Sharia-based Takaful Homeowners Policy. Let him know precisely what you think of it as a shareholder in AIG, and ask Jim Crain to make certain that his senior management also is aware of your concerns as well.

Sign our online petition demanding that the Federal Reserve, Securities Exchange Commission, and Department of Treasury carry out their fiduciary responsibilities under H.R. 1424 to act as the Financial Stability Oversight Board in America’s interest – and demand that AIG divest itself now of its Sharia businesses. This is an opportunity to make American commitment to human rights a part of how companies do business in America. It is our responsibility to let AIG know our concerns.

Let’s make our voices heard on this outrage, just as we would if AIG was offering a white supremacist financial products, black supremacist financial products, or any other products or services linked to a supremacist ideology. We need to make our voices heard because supremacism is fundamentally against the inalienable human rights of equality and liberty, as defined in America’s Declaration of Independence… and declaration of our identity as well. By the very definition of America, we are responsible for equality and liberty, and we are responsible for confronting Islamic supremacism.

Haitians still reeling after hurricane season
Haiti (MNN) — Hurricanes and tropical storms hit Haiti this fall with a one-two punch. While it’s been many weeks since the Gonaives region was hit, Bright Hope International says the needs are still great. Craig Dyer with Bright Hope says out of the eight hurricanes, five of them were of high intensity. “Right now, as best we can estimate, there are about 1,000 families that are still in shelters around the city of Gonaives. There’s about three-quarters of a million people who are receiving some sort of food aid, and of course pastors and churches have all been in the center of that. And, that’s who Bright Hope goes to, to help.” Dyer says they’re providing help to churches that are helping with food, water and shelter. He’s asking people to help Bright Hope financially, because “when we can empower the pastors and give them the opportunities to minister to people in the way that they need it at that moment, it’s a powerful tool for sharing the love of Christ.”

* Pray that more funding will be available to help local churches assist and share the Gospel.

Shock gives way to rising nationalism and anger in India
India (MNN) — Nationalist anger is beginning to surface in India in the wake of Muslim militant attacks at the heart of the financial district in late November. Though not directly impacted by the crisis, Dave Stravers of Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Mission India is more concerned about the long-term impact of the terrorist strike. “This is giving a lot of political ammunition to the BJP. This party is anti-Muslim and anti-Christian, and it could give them enough impetus to actually get control of the government of India, as they did about ten years ago, and this would be very bad news for Christians.” Hindu extremists have been connected to the attacks on believers in Orissa. Their message to believers is: STOP. However, the Gospel is still going out. Stravers says their church planters are still active. “We’re praying for Christians to be strong in their witness. The church is growing fast. This is the good news. Nevertheless, believers will perhaps be suffering in the meantime.”

* Pray that believers in India will remain steadfast in their faith as they serve Christ in hostile and dangerous environments.

Kazak lawmakers surprise international community by passing religion law
Kazakhstan (MNN) — Just after Kazakh officials vowed to cooperate with the international community on a controversial draft law on freedom of belief, the Kazakh lower house of parliament passed the bill. Joel Griffith with Slavic Gospel Association says the next move is difficult to guess. “The president of Kazakhstan was quoted earlier as saying that he was uncomfortable with the idea of missionaries in Kazakhstan. He basically said, ‘We really don’t need missionaries in Kazakhstan.’ But again, considering that Kazakhstan is part of this international organization that expects adherence to international standards, we really don’t know what tactic he’ll take.” Griffith urges prayer for wisdom. “Pray that it would be vetoed because we want churches to be able to proclaim the Gospel and worship as they choose. Pray that the churches would not be discouraged in the face of these challenges. These types of challenges often provide a window for the church to shine.” The law could adversely affect Slavic Gospel’s work. Pray that SGA teams will have wisdom and direction for future ministry.

* Pray that authorities will cease their harassment of the church communities.

* Pray for endurance for those believers facing challenges.

Renewed Muslim Jihad threatens ministry
Nigeria (MNN) — Believers in Jos, Nigeria ask for your prayers as Muslim attacks have left over 400 dead. An e-mail sent to us by an Grace Foundation Inland Mission, an indigenous mission agency, described the attacks as a “renewed Muslim jihad” against believers because Christian shops were looted and pastors were among the murdered. Attacks appear to be premeditated. The agency also reported that Muslims are sneaking into the homes of believers and murdering them. Please pray for Christians in Nigeria and for an end to these attacks.

* Pray for the strengthening and protection of believers in Jos, Nigeria.

* Pray that God will use Grace Foundation Inland Mission to open hearts and minds to the message of the Gospel.

Mumbai terror attack creates uncertainties
India (MNN) — A fragile peace exists between Pakistan and India in the wake of terrorist attacks last week. Gypsy Meadows with Worldwide Christian Schools says their correspondent in Mumbai assures them that the team is safe. However, they are rattled. “There’s a palpable and real fear factor in the hearts and minds of the common man in Mumbai, so that rumors and stray and small incidents, practically anything, seems to unsettle the average Mumbai resident. They ask for prayer for the city, particularly that the Christians of the city will be able to reach out with the Gospel, which is the message of peace and hope.” WWCS schools continue to operate, but the tension in the region is likely to push change on the government levels. Meadows says, “We could pray that Christians can be influential in reforming and reshaping a stronger and healthier government in India. That would do so much for creating a better environment for India as a whole, as a place that we can continue to reach out to.”

* Pray that peaceful relations between Pakistan and India will be maintained.

* Pray that the schools affiliated with WWCS will continue to operate and spread the message of hope and peace through Christ.

Nigeria (MNN) — Muslims have renewed battle efforts in their decades-long dispute with Christians in Nigeria.

Plateau State, located in central Nigeria, is on the front line between the Muslim-dominated northern region of Nigeria and the predominately-Christian south. Jos, the capital city of Plateau State, has recently been the location of many violent attacks. 400 have been confirmed dead, and attacks have been centered on the burning of churches and Christian homes.

An indigenous mission agency, Grace Foundation Inland Mission, requests prayer for believers in Jos. Grace Foundation reports that pastors and believers were among the 400 killed, contributing to the belief that attacks were targeted at Christians.

“They claim it is a reaction to a local government election, but we all know that it is preconceived,” said the group’s international director, Andrew Abah, in an e-mail received by the home office. “Election has nothing to do with burning down of churches, killing of pastors and other Christians, and massive looting of Christian shops.”

Some government officials say radicals are using violent religious oppression to disguise a political ploy.

One of Grace Foundation’s missionaries was taken captive by Muslim extremists, but after 10 hours he managed to escape to safety. He is currently staying with a fellow missionary. Thousands of others who have been displaced by the violence are now taking shelter in public buildings such as police stations and hospitals.

“There is a 24-hour curfew but [it's] not fully adhered to by the Muslims,” Abah reported. “They are quietly entering into houses and killing people.”

In addition to their missionary work among regional unreached people groups, Grace Foundation also has a children’s home for orphans and vulnerable children.

The staff moved children from the Unreached Children Home (UCH) to a safer location due to fear of becoming the militants’ next target.

Shortly after the move, Muslims marched to the Grace International mission base to set fire to the facility. In God’s providence, however, they were deterred by Christians until the military arrived and intervened. The government has deployed almost 300 armed soldiers to control the violence.

Please pray for Christians in Nigeria. Pray for the preservation of Grace Foundation and for an end to these attacks.

Hi,

The Lord gave me a very important vision. I must inform you of them.
Perhaps it is important for you and helpful.

While praying this morning, God gave me a vision.
He showed me a great, world-wide “mobilization”

I saw myself strolling along a beach. Suddenly, there sounded a loud boom,
which became stronger and more massive.
It was not the noise of the sea or of the wind. It was completely still
outside. The sea water was as smooth as glass. The deep booming sound which
was like the sound of the mountains about to cave in, a banging sound which
I had up till now never heard in my whole life, came from the other side of
the ocean, from far away. It became so strong and mighty, that the earth
began to quake and shake. It sounded like the blasting of a deep bass
trumpet. I had never heard this sort and depth of bass sound before now.
The whole air vibrated. I hold myself up in the dunes of the embankment,
face down, and waited to see what would come out of this natural spectacle.

When the booming refused to stop, and instead became stronger, I saw myself
begin to pray in the vision, and to speak with my God. Then I heard a voice
saying, “My child, fear not. That is my mobilization call, a signal, from
the other world. I am calling my people out from all peoples. I myself am
shaking the earth and the sea. The sinners and godless will pass away for
fear and the fearful expectation of the things which are to come.
Understand, my child, that all these have been initiated by the financial
crises. That was just the beginning of ruin. The foundation of today’s
society will be so shaken that the people will lose all that they have
acquired, and saved up till now.

Every infrastructure and welfare will collapse with time.
Life will be very difficult for very many people.
The general security will get out of control and there will be a proliferation
of crime such that life on earth will be massively threatened.
But you, who fear my name will I save from ruin. I am holding my arm of
protection over you.”

Although not even a silent wind blew, and not even a small wave was seen on
the sea, the booming was so mighty, that my heart threatened to stop beating.
Then I thought to myself, “I will now also die”. And then the Lord said to
me, “My child, do not fear. You are to live and continue to declare my works.
Arise, go home and tell your loved ones. Let them know that the coming of my
son is very close at hand, at the doorstep. I am setting everything in motion
in order to take my people home, and I am now stripping them of everything
that is holding them back, or blocking them.”

As I stood up to obey God’s voice, starting to make my way homewards,
I saw very many people, lying in the dunes. They had come out from their
houses, racing towards the sea to see and experience this extraordinary
natural spectacle. They lay on their faces as if paralysed, exactly as I had
lain a few minutes before now. As I passed by them on my way home, despite
the continuous distant booming sound, these people called to me saying “you
are crazy; you cannot make it home in this situation. It is too dangerous”.
They then buried their heads even further in the dunes, because they feared
what would happen next. They no longer wanted to hear or know of anything.

And then said the Lord to me:

“For you, my children, who fear my name, this
is the day of my “mobilization”. For you my “sun of salvation” arises, with
which I gather my true children, and bring them together.
Go, my son, and tell this everyone you can reach”.

Then I asked the Lord “what shall I tell them?”
“Tell my children,” He said, “they are no longer to occupy themselves with
perishable things, but rather, much more with the immortal, the eternal
things. They are to seek me and study my word. They should forgive one
another, so long as there is still time, and make peace with one another.

They should stop being envious of, and pointing fingers at one another.
They should neither accuse nor suspect one another.
Everyone should do what he is supposed to, and can do.
Tell them to free themselves of every unnecessary thing, and to stop fighting
spasmodically (intermittently) for their rights. From now on, I will ensure
your rights, and provide for justice for you. Great changes are about to
occur all over the world, in every area of life. Adjust yourselves therefore
and be prepared. Nothing is going to be as it has been before now…”

The further I moved from the beach, the less of the booming sound I heard,
even though I was of the opinion that the sound had become stronger and even
more massive. I felt as if I had been secured in a class case.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying “I will bring my children into
safety in my own way. You will see everything I will do in the world, which
will experience all the “plagues of Egypt” before I withdraw my children unto
myself, before Pharaoh releases you forever. My people hold together! Stay
with one another, encourage one another. Soon, you would have made it!”

That was the last thing I took with me from this vision.

As I thought about all that I had seen, and what I should do with it, the Lord
spoke to me saying “spread this revelation I have given you this morning
about my “mobilization” overall further to my children, and encourage them to
do likewise, for I am at the door (I am coming soon). And tell them,
especially my people, that they should be serious about their relationship
with me (God), before it is too late….”

When I got this message, I felt as now the biblical “woe’s” begin.

Just seven weeks after its general election, Canada is experiencing tumultuous times. Wide-reaching actions and decisions concerning the government are going to be made in the near future.

In light of the critical events transpiring in Canada right now, Christians everywhere will want to be praying.

El Shafie Ministries in Canada urges prayer for the situation, citing Scripture and a couple ways to pray: The Bible encourages us to take an interest in and pray for our leadership, saying:
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” (I Tim. 2:1-2)

The terrorist attacks last Wednesday in Mumbai, and the analysis below, remind us that, even during the holiday season, evil doesn’t sleep – nor does foolish
“political correctness.”

While the analysis below warns us of an al Qaeda “aspirational planning” document outlining threats against America (see paragraph three), some are saying in the
media that America’s foreign policies are the reason for the Mumbai terrorist attacks!!

The tragedy in Mumbai has touched many Americans who do not yet understand the depth of the threat of radical Islam – and this is an opportunity to educate them. The terrorist attacks in Mumbai remind us that we must be ever vigilant and we must continue to take action.

Why We Must Pay Attention to the Mumbai Terrorist Attacks

The Al Qaeda-inspired terrorist attacks in Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay) India may well be a bellwether for Western counter-terrorist operations, particularly in the United States. Given the 25 November FBI/DHS advisory regarding “a plausible but unsubstantiated report” on “discussions” within Al-Qa’ida communications channels, all things must be considered relevant in order to counter the threat of Islamic jihadist strikes in America.

There is no doubt that Al Qa’ida discussions half a world away in Mumbai evolved beyond the “aspirational planning.” I think it necessary at this point to reiterate
that one of the primary forms of “aspirational planning” discussions among Al Qa’ida jihadists are found on the forums resident with internet websites.
As Randy Taylor reported 18 days ago, an Al Qa’ida “aspirational planning” document was posted on one of their primary forums. Item number 9 in the 15-item “aspirational planning” list of desired targets is the subject of the current FBI/DHS advisory.

Based upon analysis of this communication, as well as other more recent communications, the Northeast Intelligence Network most certainly may be in possession
of further information, as have you and every other entity which read Mr. Taylor’s report. This kind of information is known within the United States Intelligence
Community (US IC) as Indications & Warnings (I&W). Moreover, the list in the communication we collected goes far beyond strikes in the manner of the London or Madrid
suicide bombers on the transportation sector in the northeastern United States and Canada. This communication discussed strikes against nine different nuclear power
stations located across the entire northeast region and the entire electrical grid. In multiple and overwhelming instances it references strikes against the financial
infrastructure of the United States based in New York City. It discusses what can only be mass tactical assaults on seven passenger laden commercial airports. It
discussed the financial impact upon the United States during a time of financial crisis as well as the minimal cost to the Islamic jihadists in executing the strikes,
and that they will occur at some particular point in time without warning.

Let’s shift our focus to Mumbai. How do these multiple attacks in India compare to what I’ve just discussed? They are well-coordinated mass attacks across a single major Indian city. But more importantly I think it should be obvious that the tactical execution of these attacks evidences a significant departure from the previous template of broad-daylight terrorist strikes. These Indian jihadists utilized darkness as tactical cover for the execution of a major, multi-faceted terrorist operation by launching the entire operation at 10 PM local time in Mumbai.

This evident change in tactics begs some analytical questions. Was this change in tactics based upon an Al Qa’ida leadership operational directive, or was it left to the local cell leadership to determine? Is this what occurred in the attacks against the World Trade Center in New York City in February 1993 and again in September 2001? It would appear so – the local commander determined the timing of attack, Al Qa’ida’s central command merely approved the concept and targets of the strike, and was generally aware in advance that the strikes would occur. Al Qa’ida central was briefed on the plan of attack, it did not originate them.

All of this has brought about a change in my thinking about the execution of terrorist attacks. Al-Qaeda is a decentralized terrorist entity. It was years ago at the urging of Mustafa Setmariam Nasar (Abu Mus’ab al-Suri), the Al Qa’ida master tactician, theoretician and composer of the Al Qa’ida warfighting doctrine, who urged individual jihadists and cells worldwide to execute independent jihad operations on its behalf.

Since the Al Qaeda leadership places no constraints on the timing of attacks by its worldwide cells, there exists the distinct possibility that the leader of a given
terrorist cell could choose an Islamic or Infidel date of significance or anniversary upon which to execute a strike. In this respect the “setting of dates” by
individual jihadi posters on their forums cannot be completely ignored or discounted. Just because this “setting of dates” has not been the case in the past does not
mean it won’t be the case in the present or in the future. In fact, Islamic jihadists have repeatedly struck Israeli civilian targets on Hebrew dates of significance
or holidays on many occasions over many years. The point here is that one additional and very recent jihadi forum post cites a specific date during the first week
of January 2009 in which a “settling of accounts” with President George W. Bush will occur. We’ll see what actually transpires relative to these near-term threats, yet I believe it is prudent for all concerned to learn from past events as well as the recent.

India (MNN) — In a swell of violence in Uttar Pradesh last week, a Hindu extremist group physically forced a Christian church led by a Gospel for Asia missionary to shut down. The group plans to build a Hindu temple in place of the church.

The extremist group plans not only to advocate their religion, but to force people to it at all costs. According to a Gospel for Asia report, the group’s leader is dedicated to both physically and mentally torturing Christians until they deny Christ and convert with reverence to Hinduism.

In order to accomplish their goals, radicals have recruited several Dalits, or untouchables, to attack and kill Christians. Within the Hindu caste system, Dalits cannot associate with members of other castes, and it seems that extremists will likely discard them when they have served their purposes. The group has intentionally drafted young Dalit boys who are easily impressionable and able to be enticed by offers of acceptance.

The violence in Uttar Pradesh is slowly rising to levels of horror seen usually just in Orissa. Many Christians who were never Hindus to begin with have been physically forced into the religion by anti-Christian radicals. Hundreds of thousands of believers are left hiding in the jungle, barely hanging on to their lives.

Please continue to pray that there would be an end to this terrible violence. Pray that the faith and stability of the Christians in India would draw extremists away from Hinduism and toward Christ.
