Prayer requests

Subject: [simplechurchfellowship] Please pray for Les
From: “June”
Date: Tue, September 9, 2008 6:46 pm

My husband visited some of the “old gang” from work and got caught up
on all he’s missed out on since retiring in March. He learned that a
fellow worker and friend, Les, has been diagnosed with colon cancer and
will be undergoing aggressive treatment for the aggressive form of
cancer he has.

Please join me in prayer for Les

Thank you and God bless

June

My daughter-in-law Jan’s mother Jean Frank’s surgery yesterday was more
extensive than first thought, although she came through the surgery
successuflly.

Tonight Jean’s legs, hands, feet are very swollen and both her lungs are
filling up with fluids. Pray that the doctors are able to eliminate these
excess fluids. Thanks for your prayers.

RE: MYRNA PETERSEN
Today, they are running a lot of tests before they can do Mom’s surgery. We
are not expecting surgery for a couple of days. Thanks for your continued
prayers.

FROM LAURA BODENMILLER
Just received a call from my brother Terry/he is scheduled for hip
replacement surgery 9-17. Today he was told test results came back
showing an abnormality in the heart and EKG. He goes to the Dr. this Thursday, to
find out what this is all about. He would appreciate prayers. Right before
this he had left a message on my machine saying he would like to come Friday
night or have somebody over to pray for him. That was an answer to prayer. Now he
received this other news. Please pray for protection and as the Spirit
leads. Also, that the needs of the family and finances will be provided
for. Thanks for your prayers,

Prayer for pastor here in Bigfork, Montana, Hal Curtis+Sarah

As you can see this is a needy prayer request to pray for this church as the
media will try to make mince meet of this church. — Marcia

>From Executive Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ.

Greetings to all!

Our pastor here in Bigfork, Montana, Hal Curtis, is friends with Sarah
Palin’s pastor in Wasilla, Alaska. His name is David Pepper and the
church is Full Gospel Church of Wasilla, AK.

Three days before Gov. Palin was announced by John McCain as his choice for
VP, she came before her pastor to be annointed and prayed over for
service to God. She didn’t tell the church what was going on….just that she needed
their prayer support. During the mere days since the announcement, the
pastor and the church have been bombarded with questions from the media. They are
trying to get the word out to Christians all over the nation to pray for
God’s protection of Sarah Palin and of their church. They suspect that the
treatment of Jeremiah Wright will pale in comparison to what is coming
their way as a conservative Christian body.

When the little Down’s Syndrome baby of Todd and Sarah Palin was dedicated a
few months ago, their statement to the congregation was “This little boy is
my pro-life statement.” According to David Pepper, Todd and Sarah are very
strong in their faith in Jesus Christ and believe God has put them in this
position to serve Him.

Let’s remember to pray for Gov. Palin and her family as they walk through
this very trying time!

Thank you so much!

Vicky Creamer

p.s. Please pass this request on to other prayer warriors!

CHINA HEARD YOUR VOICE – Frees Pastor Bike

Click here for more articles on the persecuted church.

Pastor Bike
Thank you for adding your name to the online petition asking the Chinese government to free Pastor Bike. Your voice was heard! Pastor Bike is FREE! On Friday, August 29, prominent Chinese house church leader Zhang Mingxuan, affectionately known as “Pastor Bike,” his wife and a co-worker were released from Chinese custody. Pastor Bike was arrested along with his wife and co-worker August 6, two days before the Olympic Games began in Beijing. An outspoken evangelist, Pastor Bike has travelled on his bike to many places in China, handing out Christian literature and Bibles and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Instead of being held at a prison or a detention center Pastor Bike and his wife, Xie Fenglan, and their co-worker were taken to resort hotels on a “forced vacation” designed to ensure that they couldn’t talk to any foreign media. Pastor Bike was scheduled to do an interview with the BBC the day of his arrest.

All three believers are in good health and spirits and praising God for their release, according to our co-laborers at China Aid Association. The detainees said during their confinement they had opportunities to witness to guards and even high-ranking government officials staying at the hotels where they were held.

Petition being delivered to Chinese Embassy
On August 26, The Voice of the Martyrs and China Aid Association launched an international online petition drive advocating for Pastor Bike, his wife and co-worker to be released. On September 4, China Aid Association delivered the petition — which had more than 57,000 names printed on 619 pages — addressed to Ambassador Zhou Wenzhong at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Washington, D.C. Included was a letter thanking the Chinese government for releasing these house-church Christians.

We are thankful to you and the thousands of others who logged on and signed the petition. Christians in free nations often wonder if we can really make a practical difference for Christians in persecuted countries. Pastor Bike’s release shows that WE CAN!

Continue to pray for Pastor Bike, his wife and their co-worker and for other believers in China.

PLEASE PRAY FOR JJ!!!

From: Sgtem72456

Date: Wed, September 10, 2008 12:27 pm

I received this from a member of a Christian club I belong to, Please help
us pray for this young man! Thank you for caring and praying! God Bless You!

Lovingly, Estrella

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Original message:
On Friday afternoon, my 13 yr old nephew (Jason Junior – aka JJ) stretched
out for athletics practice, ran 10 yrds, and then collapsed.
It took the emt’s 4 times hitting him with defibrilators to revive his heart. He was “gone”
for 22 minutes. He is in Children’s Medical Hospital in Dallas in a
medically induced coma with his body temperature kept at 68 degrees to keep him from
enduring anymore stress to his heart. After several tests, they still have
not found a reason for his heart to have failed. Almost everything has been
ruled out as a cause.
The only visible damage is what was caused by the
defibrilators themselves. There is some swelling to his brain from having
been without oxygen for those 22 minutes. They cannot do an mri on his brain until the
swelling goes down and the ct scan doesn’t show much. Today, between noon
and 2pm central standard time, they are lifting him out of the coma slowly and
warming his body.
They are, however, keeping him on life support until
they see how he’s going to react to coming off of the paralysis medication. Our family
has been told that he may or may not come out, that there may or may not be
severe brain damage, that he may or may not survive.
However, I did witness
something yesterday that seemed like every good news to me… tears rolled
down his face when they changed his feeding tube and his heartrate and blood
pressure rose. So his body IS still responding to certain stimuli. I do
not want to be naive in this situation and I know that the will of God is perfect. And
yet, I cling to the knowledge that God’s arm is not too short. He is
STILL in the miracle business. JJ is in need of a miracle. Please strengthen him in
prayer as they lift him out of that coma. Thank you so much…—Treava
Prayer Requests
Subject: Urgent prayer Request
From: “noah thapa”
Date: Sat, August 23, 2008 1:50 pm
This is very urgent please. (This is a little bit late already, but please include in your prayer list, especially those who were in the affected areas, and lost loved ones…)
Today I am sending an
urgent prayer requests for Nepal. In Nepal, it has been floods and over
hundreds and thousands of people have been killed and swept away in the
floods in south part of Nepal. There is a biggest river of Nepal named ‘Koshi
River’.
India had dammed the river made tunnels for the irrigation in India.
Because of the high flow of water, the river hit the other part of the lands and
the floods went to the residence areas.
People are
homeless and are in need of potable water, medicines, clothes, food and
shelter. The reports has not come yet but people say that over 1,000 people
died in the flood and another thousands are missing. The floods came from
breaking the dams of river and now completely destroyed four village
development committees, destroyed the rice fields, hundreds of domestic
animals are killed in the floods. Numbers of dead bodies found passed to
the Indian boarder in the river bank. Also there has been flooded in western part of
Nepal and hundreds of people are swept in the flood. “The people in
floods desperately need our prayers,”
Thank you for your prayers.
In Christ
Subject: Prayer request from the heart
Prayer Warriors,
I have a burden on my heart that I believe can only be dealt with by Jesus
our Lord through our agreement in prayer. I would like this to be sent to
all the prayer warriors out there that we know. There is a man that I work with
at Dollywood who refuses to believe in God and Jesus or the Holy Spirit. I
throw little inuendos at him from time to time but he shruggs them off. I
don’t mind telling his name, it is Mel Dunlap. He is from up state New York. I
asked the Lord today what I needed to do and right then the Lord told me
to ask him if he has a Bible. Then He said if he doesn’t, for me to offer to buy
him one; maybe an NIV or any other easy to read Bible. If he takes a Bible I
will tell him to read the New Testament first to get the Truth for the present
day church, because the Truth is the Word and the Word is Jesus Christ our
Lord. Then he can read God’s word in the Old Testament. I have never had an
answer from the Lord come to me this fast so please pray with me that I will
handle this right. This is a real burden on my heart and I can’t stand
the thought of this man never knowing the peace and love that Our Lord has for us and
the home He has built for us in His Kingdom. I feel that this time is not
far away when God will send Jesus to get His children. I ask that each of you
agree with me for this man to be drawn by The Holy Spirit and He will
soften his heart and make it possible for him to receive help and believe and accept
the Lord.
I am sorry for the length of this letter but this was the only way I know
how to tell you this. I love you all very much and pray the Lord will
minister to the needs of each of you.
Your Brother In Christ,
Luther Rudd, Jr.
China: Sign the petition to free Pastor “Bike” now!
Pastor Bike and Anna
Pastor Bike standing with Anna, an orphaned Christian girl also persecuted by the Chinese government.
Pastor Bike, as he is affectionately known, is considered to be one of the most outspoken evangelists in China. He is a bold believer willing to cross borders, hand out Christian literature and Bibles, share Christ with those under age 18 and lead thousands to Christ. All these actions are considered “illegal” in communist China.
On August 6, just two days before the Olympics began, Pastor Zhang “Bike” Mingxuan was arrested, along with his wife and a coworker.
In response to these arrests, The Voice of the Martyrs and China Aid Association have launched a petition drive to free these three Christians and to let the Chinese government know that the world is aware that these Christians are being detained.
Together, our voice can make a difference. Please follow the link below to learn more, and please forward this email to your friends.
Daughter killed for conversion to Christianity
Click here for more articles on the persecuted church.
Saudi flagSaudi Arabia (MNN) —- “For this hard-core Muslim religious policeman who was in charge of enforcing Islamic code in Saudi Arabia, for his own daughter to become a believer in Christ, obviously he felt such shame brought on his family that it was better to kill her than to live with that shame,” said Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs USA.
According to Gulf News, the man was a working for the Commission for promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. When he found out his daughter had secretly become a Christian, the two of them got into a heated discussion. Gulf News reports that the girls tongue was cut, and she was burned to death.
Nettleton said that what news reports are calling an “honor killing” is a two-sided coin. First, it’s done because of the overwhelming shame that a family feels from one of their own members becoming an “apostate.” Secondly, it’s done because it is a common mindset in the Islamic world that conversion is a process which takes time. “If you’re able to kill your family member before that conversion process is complete, you’re actually doing them a favor because they’re still going to die a Muslim. They’re still going to have some chance of going to Muslim paradise after death,” explained Nettleton.
The girl had written in her blog that her brother had seen some Christian articles of hers and had noticed a cross on her computer screen. She also wrote about the difficulties she faced with her family when they began to suspect her conversion to Christianity.
Religious leaders in Saudi Arabia have warned against the dangers of Christian Web sites and television shows that draw in youngsters and pull them away from Islam. They say spending time in these media outlets is against the teaching of Islam.
The Web sites she visited and blogged on have set aside pages where people can mourn for her, and some have even been temporarily shut down in protest.
In Muslim nations, like Saudi Arabia where the girl lived, a lack of peace is pervasive. “That is leading to questions. That’s leading people to say, ‘What else is out there because, you know, I’ve tried Islam. I’ve followed the Koran. I still don’t feel any peace in my life,’” said Nettleton. “The internet becomes a source of information and, ultimately, a source of ministry that says there is something else out there. There’s Jesus Christ and the hope, the assurance of eternity with Him, and that speaks very loudly to the Muslim heart.”
Nettleton asks Christians to pray for the slain girl’s family. News sources report that her father has been taken into custody for investigation. Pray that the Holy Spirit will soften their hearts through the witness of their daughter and sister, and that they’ll come to a saving knowledge of Jesus. Also, pray for all believers in Saudi Arabia who put their lives on the line to follow Christ.
