Urgent Prayer Requests For Delynne Collett

Prayusasf@aol.com

Delynne was admitted to the hospital yesterday (12/27/07). She is having a blood transfusion. Her red and white blood cell count is low. She has a fever and they are trying to determine the cause. Her immune system has been compromised and she is not allowed out in the public at this time. She is very weak. They will give her an injection of Neulasta to help build her red blood count, platelets and antibiotics through her port.

Her brother, Jonathan, was taken to a clinic and diagnosed with bronchitis. Rick (dad) is with Jonathan and Crystal and Minnie (mom) is at the hospital with Delynne and Brielle.

Please pray for this family and especially that Delynne’s body will be strong to fight all that is going on within her. Pray that her counts will go up and for protection against infection and that she will have no ill effects from the platelets or blood transfusion. She has lost 20 + pounds and has had a feeding tube to try to help her get the nutrition she needs and put back on the weight she lost. Delynne still struggles with blurred and double vision. Only God can intervene and turn all this around. The Lord will show you how to pray in a situation such as this.

Praise the Lord that Delynne is still in good spirits with all that is taking place!

Thank you for standing with us in the gap for Delynne and her family.

Love and Blessings,

Bill and Pam Malone

Please Pray For Ethan!!!!

goodnews@gate.net

Dear Friends, I am not the type of minister to run over to everyone in a wheelchair or place my finger in every deaf person’s ears. I only do what I see the Father doing.
I know in my heart that this child will walk with enough prayer!!!

This precious child, Ethan, fell down a staircase five years ago and due to head injury he has been in this wheelchair ever since. I received in my spirit from God, he will walk and his full speech will return. His parents make sure he gets injections that keep his muscle tone. These shots are very painful and this child is a great soldier and is declaring and begging, and I do mean begging, for his healing. Won’t you all join Ethan and his parents in praying for him. We held his hands and he WALKED with much exhaustion. He did a great job but one of his ankles would not straighten out!!

Request for help to support orphans in a rural area in Zambia

kelshinga@yahoo.com

Greetings in the name of our soon coming King Jesus Christ. We are a young dynamic and committed followers of
the Lord Jesus Christ Commissioned with the mission of diseminating the word of God to those in rural areas.
We believe that the primary task of the church is to fulfill the Great Commission Jesus gave us before He
ascended into heaven(Mark 16:15)We are working on spreading the gospel. Along with a Gospel Team, we conduct
Bible classes to train new pastors in rural areas and we equip them with bicycles and bibles who are going
out into remote villages and mountain areas to plant new churches.

We have been operating a feeding program for orphans in the area we are operating from, who are without
nice clothes, shoes and homeless. Children in rural villages of Zambia and totally lacking comfort and parental
love.

Daily we see numbers of helpless orphans in public settings throughout the villages. Please remember them
in your daily prayers. They suffer for want of food, clothing and shelter. Some have been starving for days on
end. Their condition is truly pathetic. We are soliciting donations from fellow christians to meet their dire
needs. We need some generous sponsors to provide care for at least some of them.

Please allow us to explain the situation and tell you about the existing conditions of orphaned children in
Zambia. Here, the number of orphans is geometrically increasing from one day to the next as families disintegrate
due to the death of parents. Many boys spend their days at public places like bus stops, railway stations and
enterprise centers like petrol bunks or in the landlords, fields.

They struggle the entire day for their owners, where they are accustomed to insufficient food. These pitiful
youngsters wander the streets where they may eat only three days out of seven.. Sometimes, after feasts of the
wealthy, orphans compete with stray dogs for food left in the the trashbins. In such a hostile environment, these
helpless little one will one day become hardened and powerful criminals and sociopaths. This most serious
problems of our contemporary society must surely inspire compassion in any human being.

In this land, people are aware of these bitter and frightening conditions, but few from our middle or upper
classes comes forward to aid these helpless and suffering victims. We so pitied their existing conditions, that
we proposed and planned a feeding program to uplift these helpless orphans. Being christians we make personal
decisions according to the Bible in James 1:27. These words made a great impression on us and we decided to
take the responsibility for the helpless orphans. We have adopted 65 double orphans from a total of over 200
orphans and vulnerable in one church in the rural area we are operating. We give them one meal once per day
because we can not afford full meals everyday. These children have no good clothes, shoes, blankets and shelter.
They are plenty of orphans in this area who are just surviving on mangoes. Some are kept by their grandmothers
who also widows. They need help from compassionate christians.

Food, clothes, shoes, blankets, shelter and toys are urgently needed for for the 65 orphans. To ensure these
destitute children healthcare and education, we need to provide free accomodations, clothing, shoes, blankets,
medicine, electricity, food and toys. There age is from 3 weeks to 11 years old.

We humbly request generous and kind hearted people from your church to lend us a hand by supporting these
orphans. We hope and pray that our request will be met by positive response and together we are assured of God’s
divine blessing. We have also attached some pictures in order for you to see the situation as well as see what we
are doing. The pictures are showing the few that we are feeding with help of our volunteers, some children
picking mangoes from the tree as a means of survival, some with there grandmothers and a three weeks old baby
left by her dead mother one week after delivery. We hope to hear from you soon.

Yours Faithfully

Pastor Kelvin Shinga&

IRAN Christians Arrested, Interrogated and Literature Confiscated – VOM Sources

Recently Christians were arrested and interrogated by secret police. The Voice of the Martyrs contacts report Christian literature and other items were confiscated during the arrests. In the last six months, thousands of pieces of Christian literature have been confiscated as part of a significant crackdown by secret police. Pray God protects believers in Iran and for God to give them wisdom as they share the gospel in dangerous areas. Pray their courageous testimonies will draw nonbelievers into fellowship with Christ. Psalm 118:17, Psalm 91

PAKISTAN Christians Under Attack Ask for Prayer – VOM Sources

The Voice of the Martyrs has received several prayer requests from believers in Pakistan. Due to the volatile
and sensitive climate in Pakistan, VOM cannot release the specific locations of these believers. They request:

  • “Please pray for our ministry, we want to reach all of Pakistan and distribute the Word of God to Muslim hands.”

  • “Please pray for us to be strengthened in our faith and for God to give us wisdom and knowledge”.
  • “Pray for areas that are under attack from suicide bombers, any lives are being destroyed. Ask God to protect
people in these areas and that they will be able to know Jesus Christ.”

INDONESIA Islamic Extremists Secure Closure of Two Churches – Compass Direct News

In November, a Baptist church and a Catholic church were attacked and closed after Islamic extremists protested
their presence, in Jakarta, Indonesia. According to Compass Direct News, “The extremists from the Islamic Defender
Forces (Front Pembela Islam or FPI), attacked the home of Rev. Bedali Hulu, pastor at Jakarta Christian Baptist
Church, kicking out doors and windows, breaking glass and throwing the pastors belongings from the house. The
church had been meeting in the pastor’s home.”
In a separate incident in West Jakarta, about 75 Muslim extremists
demanded ministry activities at Damai Kristus Catholic Church stop. Compass Direct reported, “Marching against
the church ostensibly because it did not have the proper permit for expansion – local authorities had denied the
parish priests application without explanation – the irate demonstrators walked from Al Maulana mosque to the
church yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’ (God is Great). Sources said the protestors threatened violence if church leaders
refused to comply with their demands and tried to force clergymen to remove all religious symbols.”

Pray for the safety of believers in Indonesia. Ask God to use their testimonies to draw nonbelievers into
fellowship with Jesus Christ. Isaiah 54:17, Psalm 91

    from this page: http://www.MNNonline.org/article/10683

China (MNN)Voice of the Martyrs Canada reports that a Christian bookstore owner was arrested when 20 members of the Public Security Bureau raided his Christian bookstore on November 28 near the Olympic Village in Beijing.

Mr. Weihan Shi is a husband with two young daughters. The others who were arrested along with Shi, including his wife, have already been released from prison. However, Shi has not been allowed to see his family or consult a lawyer, according to the latest report.

Shi has diabetes which is causing concern over his health since he does not have access to medication. Also, Shi’s wife and daughters have gone into hiding for fear that another attack could present itself before legal action has been taken.

Pray for the man’s health and
for his family who have gone into hiding. Pray, also, that he will stand firm in his faith.

Court sentences missionary kidnappers in the Philippines

Philippines (MNN) — There has been some resolution to the 2001 hostage
situation that resulted in the death of a missionary with New Tribes
Mission, Martin Burnham. On Thursday Dec. 6 a court in Manila sentenced
14 members of an Islamic militant group Abu Sayyaf to life in prison.
Gracia Burnham was held hostage for more than a year with her husband
before he died in the rescue that freed her, and she says the sentence is
fair. “I would just like more than anything for these guys to hear the
Gospel of Jesus while they’re in jail. I’m glad they weren’t sentenced
to death. I would love for them to hear about the forgiveness of
    Jesus.”
Burnham thinks perhaps someday she’ll be able to share that message.
“I would love to go back and be able to visit with them and just talk
with them through an interpreter, and most of all get some literature
in their language that talks about salvation.”
    Pray for the Burnham
family during this difficult time of the year.

    * Pray for the witness of Gracia Burnham to be used to illustrate
    the power of forgiveness.

    * Pray for the salvation of the Islamic militants while in jail.

Two YWAM staff gunned down in USA

USA (MNN) — Youth With a Mission continues to be in shock after two of
their young staff members were killed and two others wounded. YWAM’s
Paul Filidis says a man described in his early 20’s came to the YWAM
training center dormitory shortly after midnight Sunday morning asking to
stay there. That’s when 26-year-old Tiffany Johnson was called. “She
explained to him apparently that this was not an option — this was not a
place where he could stay. And in response to that, he pulled out a
gun and started shooting, killing her and one other person”
    –24-year old
Philip Crouse. YWAM sends Christians around the world — some to places
where persecution of Christians is common. Filidis is concerned that
“people not shy away from getting involved as God is calling people to
get involved in ministry and missions. Pray that this would not detract
them from what God may be asking them to get involved with. We hope
that maybe more people will be interested in ministry rather than shying
    away from it.”

    * Pray for recovery for those who are injured.

    * Pray for comfort for the families of those who were killed.

A ministry grieves with believers in Colorado, considers impact

USA (MNN) — Authorities investigating Colorado’s shootings at YWAM say
the gunman held a grudge against Christians. Ironically, Matthew
Murray had been training at the missionary training school to go on a
mission trip, but was not accepted. While some called the four who died in
Sunday’s shootings “martyrs,” Carl Moeller of Open Doors USA clarified
that a bit more: “I would say that those brothers and sisters who lost
their lives this past weekend were killed in persecution against
Christians–a vendetta by this man against Christians.”
    Open Doors supports the
global persecuted church. Moeller says this incident shows that the
American church should be prepared for the rigors of evangelism. “As
Christians in America, the more we stand up for righteousness in our
society, the more we stand up for God’s Word in public places, and the more
we make Christianity the issue of life…we’ll draw more and more fire.
    It’s inevitable.”

    * Pray for healing in the two communities affected by the
    shootings.

    * Pray for those who are persecuted for their faith around the
    world.

Bombings in Iraq keep Christians in fear

Turkey (MNN) — At least 27 people died and 100 were wounded Wednesday
when three car bombs ripped through a southern Iraqi city. Rival Shiite
groups have been battling for control of oil and power. The violence
has forced thousands of Christians out of Iraq. Some say 90-percent of
the Christian population is gone. Many are refugees in Turkey. World
Evangelical Alliances’ Johan Candelin says they’re now his mission. “The
challenge is huge, but it’s better to do a little than to do nothing. So
that’s why I’m going there to comfort them, to share the Gospel about
the birth of Jesus Christ and bring some food and toys for the
    children.”
Candelin says he’s helping a small group of 2,000 who have had loved
ones killed or kidnapped. “Many have had children who have been taken
away. Once they got them back, they left the country. So unfortunately,
the Christian population in Iraq is leaving the country very fast. It
is becoming a totally Muslim country, unfortunately.”

    * Pray that the Gospel will continue to bear fruit in Iraq and that
    the Church will grow.

    * Pray for believers in Iraq to be strong in their faith.

    __________________________________________________________________

Open Doors reaches out to Iraqi refugees

Iraq (MNN) — The United Nations estimates that roughly 2,000
Christians per day are being displaced by violence in Iraq. Open Doors is
working closely with local partners to bring in survival supplies for those
who have fled to the North. In doing so, they’re helping preserve a
remnant church and Christian identity. Carl Moeller of Open Doors says, “To
be completely dislocated is so horrible for them. They’ve lost their
jobs, they’ve lost their homes, and they’ve even lost their church. So
we’re actually working to bring Christian communities together in small
groups–local churches of refugees where people can find others that
    have fled as well.”
However, seeking refuge in the North hasn’t turned
out very well, either. “The influx has created a social dynamic that has
created more violence against Christians, so we don’t have a lot of
optimism in the short term for the situation over there. We’re just
praying that God would intervene in these violent areas so the violence would
decrease, and that not only physical relief would be provided for
    these, but a spiritual relief.”

    * Pray that Open Doors co-workers can continue to provide relief
    supplies to the most needy.

    * Pray for spiritual healing.

    * Pray that the violence will decrease and the refugees can return
    home.

AZERBAIJAN Imprisoned Baptist Pastor in Poor Health Christian World News

Recently, imprisoned Baptist pastor, Zaur Balaev, was transferred to a prison colony in Azerbaijan where his
family is forced to bribe prison guards to bring him food. According to a Christian World News (CWN) report, Mission
Network News and the Slavic Gospel Association reported the frail pastor was experiencing harsh conditions at the
prison. CWN reported, Joel Griffith of Slavic Gospel Association said, “Officials at this prison where he’s being

Pastor Balaev is getting food or being able to meet with his family.”
The report added that since Pastor Balaev’s
transfer to Darnagyul, the pastor has been in poor health, and his church and family are concerned. However, they
have been able to supply him with warm clothes, blankets and food. Pray God heals Pastor Balaev and works in his

Urgent Prayer Needed for Muslim-background Believers in Nigeria

    usa@opendoors.org

Few Christians in the West consider the country of Nigeria a Muslim nation. Yet half of its citizens are Islamic…
and there is a growing minority of radical Muslims who are violently targeting Christians in this African nation.

Elder Saidu Dogo, the secretary of the northern Nigeria chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN),
recently told Compass Direct that Muslim leaders are encouraging their followers to “take over Nigeria by going to
    war against Christians.”
And as a result, many believers in this nation are being threatened, abducted, or
    murdered.

    Left for Dead

Henry Ogbaje, a 24-year-old Christian, was on his way home in Kaduna, Nigeria, on Friday, October 12, when a group
of radical Muslims attacked him and beat him unconscious with wooden clubs.

Believing they had killed him, his assailants left him for dead… and Henry lay in a pool of his own blood until he
    regained consciousness three hours later.

A passerby eventually helped Henry get home, and his family members immediately took him to the hospital. A doctor
treated him that night, and told Henry’s family to bring him back to the hospital in three days’ time. On Sunday night,
however, Henry’s family rushed him back to the hospital… and by 8:00 p.m., Henry died.

“Henry was a peace-loving person,” remembers his father, Sgt. Emmanuel Ogbaje. “He was not a
    troublemaker.”
This is why Henry’s death is so horribly shocking to those who knew and loved him.

Henry Ogbaje’s murder took place as Muslims were celebrating the Eid-El-Fatr festival, which marks the end of
Ramadan. Another man identified only as Basil was also killed in Kaduna during this same time.

Noting that other Muslim leaders also preached attacks against Christians during Ramadan,
Elder Dogo is pleading for the Nigerian government to protect Christians. He is asking they act quickly to forestall
what he and other Christian leaders say is a systematic effort to wipe Christianity out of northern Nigeria.

“We are alarmed over these types of killings and plead that the government seriously do something about these
    security breaches,”
    he said.

The Rev. Joshua Magaji, assistant secretary of the Kaduna state chapter of CAN, said the killings were meant to
provoke Christians into angry retaliations and trigger another religious crisis in the state. Tens of thousands of
deaths have been the result of religious violence in the past three decades and violence has broken out several times
since the imposition of sharia (Islamic) law in 2000.

“We thank God that Christians in the state have restrained themselves from avenging the killing of these two,
and we would like to appeal that they continue in this spirit,”
    Magaji said.

    Need for Prayer Crucial

Please be in prayer for the families of those who have lost loved ones at the hands of radical extremists. And
please pray for the safety and perseverance of the millions of Christians and Muslim-background believers living in
Nigeria as thousands of believers are being threatened or attacked because of their faith in Jesus Christ!

Thank you for your enduring support and compassion for our brothers and sisters who are paying such a high price
for their faith. May God bless you for battling with them through your gifts and prayers in the coming days!
