    VOM-USA News & Prayer Update (November 27, 2007)

    thevoice@persecution.com

“I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned
both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through
    Christ who strengthens me.”
    (Philippians 4:12-13)

On November 9, Baptist Pastor Vyacheslav Kalataevsky was released after eight months in prison.
According to The Voice of the Martyrs contacts, Kalataevsky and his family are thankful for the
prayers and support of believers around the world. Forum 18 News reports government officials have
warned Pastor Kalataevsky not to meet for worship with fellow believers. Pastor Kalataevsky told
Forum 18, “Officials summoned me for what they said was a conversation, but at the end presented me
with a pre-written statement saying that I agreed not to meet with my fellow believers. All it lacked
was my signature, but I refused to sign it, both on my behalf and on behalf of my wife.”
    The Forum
18 report added, “Although Kalataevsky’s congregation does not oppose state registration in
principle. Officials kept telling him that his congregation does not have enough adult citizen
members to apply for registration. They added that unregistered religious activity, including people
meeting together for worship in homes, is banned.”
Praise God for Pastor Kalatatevsky’s release

AZERBAIJAN Imprisoned Pastor Required to Pay for Necessities in Prison – VOM Sources / Forum 18 News

Pastor Zaur Balaev’s friends and family are said to be “shocked” by the financial demands
he is facing in prison. According to VOM sources, Pastor Balaev is required to pay for hot water to
wash or do laundry and cook his food. His family is allowed to visit him only after paying “a
    considerable amount.”
Zaur’s wife was allowed to stay with him for three days for his birthday,
but as she was leaving the prison, she said, “I am shocked by the conditions and the sum spent,
because I was forced to pay for everything.”
According to Forum 18 News, officials deny payment
was demanded. “The state pays for everything, including food,” said Mehman Sadykov, spokesperson
for the Justice Ministry. “Such reports don’t correspond with reality.” Pray for strength for
Balaev and his family during this time. Pray their appeal will be successful. Pray that Balaev will

from the assault. Psalm 23, Psalm 107:20

Prayer Updates For Delynne Collett and Shirley

    Update on Delynne Collett

    Prayusasf@aol.com

Thank you for your prayers and continued concern for our granddaughter, Delynne. It helps so much to know that you are praying with us and sharing this burden that is much too heavy for any of us to carry alone.

Delynne continues to amaze us with her positive attitude and sense of humor! She finished her radiation treatments several weeks ago and has had some rest from treatments. She has continued all her therapies – speech, occupational and physical during this time. Tomorrow, Tuesday (Nov. 27th) she will be having an MRI as they will be checking to see how the radiation treatments have affected the tumer

Our prayers are that we are expecting it to be gone! Her parents will be meeting with the oncologist. The protocol that is being planned will be “14 days on / 28 days off” of daily chemo treatments. She will continue all physical therapy during this time. The plan is she will be on chemotherapy (pills, injections and infusions) for the next year.

Please pray that there will be wisdom in making decisions such as this and she will not have to go through anything more than what is absolutely necessary.

    Love and Blessings,

    Bill and Pam Malone

    Pray U.S.A.!

    Shirley Update

    underwoodsheri@bellsouth.net

    Hey Susie:

Just wanted to update you on the great news on mom. We went to the oncologist yesterday and the doctor determined that she is in remission from the lung cancer, therefore no more chemo! Hallejuah!!! The last 2 chemos put her in the state of receiving blood tranfusions and loosing all of the mobility that she had worked so hard in gaining over the last months. She is improving little by little as far as her mobility. She can now transfer from her rehab bed to the wheelchair by herself and walk as far as 75 feet with a walker unassisted. These are huge steps for her. She is completely coherent and has her great sense of humor back. To have her share Thanksgiving at our home with the entire family was such a blessing.

Please continue to pray that her mobility will continue to increase and please keep those angels around her for safety during this rehab time.

Thank you so much for all the prayers. They have meant so much to me and my family. You just can’t even imagine how thrilled we are with her progress.

    Best,

    Sheri

    Kenya Prayer Concerns

    sdheintz@gmail.com

Our Mission Statement: Harvest Ministries of Manasota exists to promote a harvest of new Christians (John 3:3) through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest
to send out laborers into his harvest.”
(Matthew 9:37-38), as led by the Holy Spirit:
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.” (Romans 8:14).

    Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,

Thank you again for the mighty prayers and support you have given to the 2007 HMM Kenya Mission!!! It is so clear that our progress and success began the day that you began to pray, and many obstacles were removed. Also, the great outpouring was the result of prayer and intercession on the part of many, and certainly not the ‘natural’ result of our efforts. God accomplished so much! We continue to get email and information back that many were blessed.

God took our weaknesses and poured out His mighty Strength, Hallelujah and thank you to Jesus Christ!

As we rest up from the trip the Lord has impressed on me Isaiah 30:15 NKJV:

“In returning and rest you shall be saved, In quietness and confidence shall be your strength”.

Yes, many opportunities lay open before us, and we again need your prayers so that what has begun can be
completed. Here is a list of prayer concerns. Please intercede as you have been doing, and we will see
    mighty answers from God !!!

    1. We need to follow up our mission with written material. There are two or three books that
we want to put into the hands of pastors and leaders. We can publish these in Kenya or India at
minimal cost and give them as continuing education. Please pray for the Lord’s leading and provision
    in this vital follow up.

    2. We have a financial need. Here is our financial report –

HARVEST MINISTRIES OF MANASOTA KENYA MISSION BUDGET — OCTOBER 2007

    Total Expenses $19,370.00 $17,690.58
    Total Donations Received $13,067.00
    Needed Additional Donations $(4,623.58)

Please pray for the Lord to lead those whom He has appointed to give and supply this need.

    3. Pastor David Githii has mentioned that he would like to have a national Convocation on the Holy Spirit
August of 2008 and invited us back to minister in that national setting.

    4. I have been impressed by the Holy Spirit that there should be an on-going School of the Holy Spirit in
Nairobi that can continue to fan the flames of revival.

    5. The national elections are December 27, 2007 and it is imperative that Mwai Kibake be re-elected,
as well as that the Muslim initiative fail. There are still parts of the nation where one-day meetings are needed,
areas we could not reach in the time we had.

The summary is – the Revival must continue!! THANK YOU FOR PRAYING !!!!!

Please check out the website at www.harvestministrieslive.com – it is under construction, but will soon have a slideshow
of the trip. There is a Forum there for you to post your comments. A DVD of the trip is available for $3.00 postage.
Let me know if you want one and I will send it right out. BE SURE TO send me your prayer concerns by email
and I will pray for them daily, and share them with our Intercessors Group each morning.

We so deeply appreciate your prayers and support. It is because of you that this mission is possible.

Blessings in Him – in Jesus Christ our Lord !!

    The passing of Mary O’Neill

    ActorFC@aol.com

I debated with myself if I should send this email out…but there are many scripture that say honor your Father and your Mother. So, I would like to give honor to my mother who was a rock of strength in spite of anything she went through in life. My mother, Mary O’Neill, died yesterday, November, 20th. at 4 PM. I can speak of the heartache it brings me for my loss but I’d rather honor my mother with the words, from one of her favorite songs, “Wind Beneath My Wings.” This sums up how I’ve always felt about her. Please keep my family in your prayers. Thank you.

    The Wind Beneath My Wings

So I was the one with all the glory,

while you were the one with all the strength.

A beautiful face without a name for so long.

A beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Did you ever know that you’re my hero,

and everything I would like to be?

I can fly higher than an eagle,

for you are the wind beneath my wings…

…you are the wind beneath my wings.

NORTH KOREA Christians Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown – VOM Sources

In September, the National Security Service of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) announced
the arrest of several “foreign spies” and “native citizens working for a foreign intelligence service.” VOM
sources say those arrested are Christians and not spies. VOM sources have identified the following nine
Christians who have disappeared and are believed to have been arrested by government authorities: Mr. Chul Huh
    (34), Mr. Chun-Il Jang (39), Mr. Myung-Chul Kim (36), Ms. Young-Su Jin (32), Mr. Nam-Suk Kang (48), Mr. San-Ho
Kang (36), Mr. Suk-Chun Suh (29), Ms. Mi-Hae Park (30) and Ms. Young-Yae Lee (37). The whereabouts of these
individuals is unknown. It is possible they have already been tried and executed. Pray the loved ones of those
arrested will find peace in the fact that God works all things for the good of those who love Him and who have
been called according to His purpose. Pray that North Korea’s leaders will come to repentance and faith in Christ.

EGYPT More Christians Jailed – Compass Direct News

Three Christian activists with the Toronto-based Middle East Christian Association have been jailed in Egypt.
According to a Compass Direct News report, Wagih Yaob and Victor George were taken from their homes in the early
hours of November 10, while lawyer Mamdouh Azmy was arrested at his law office later that afternoon. The police
reportedly treated Yaob badly and confiscated both Yaob and George’s personal belongings, including a laptop. After
being interrogated at a state prosecutor’s office in New Cairo, Yaob and George were given 15-day detentions and
were accused of defaming Islam and destroying the reputation of Egypt. They are being held at Cairo’s Tora prison.
Later, Azmy was transferred to a Cairo prison. Pray for the release of these believers. Pray the Holy Spirit will
encourage them and their families during this difficult time. Ask that their testimony will draw nonbelievers into
fellowship with Christ. 2 Timothy 1:7, Psalm 23

INDIA Christians Beaten by Militants – VOM Sources

On November 4, six Christians, including Pastor Vishnu Barad and his wife, were beaten by Hindu militants in
the Thane district of Maharastra. The believers were reportedly targeted for attending prayer meetings in the area.
Pastor Barad was detained when he went to the local police station to register a complaint against the militants.
On November 10, a group of approximately 50 Hindu militants attacked Pastor P.C. Nayak of the Believers Church in
the city of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. According to the Evangelical Fellowship of India, local villagers called
Pastor Nayak to a meeting regarding the construction of a church building. When he arrived at the construction
site the militants beat him. He was hospitalized with internal injuries. Pray that Pastor Barad will be released.
Pray for healing for those injured in these attacks. Pray Christians in India will maintain the attitude of Christ
and respond to their persecutors with love and grace. Isaiah 26:3, Joshua 1:9

Can I have your prayers and your knowledge

    anniebell35645@aol.com

I also need you to be in prayer for my sister. She’s under satan’s attack. She was saved and living for God a few years ago but slowing began to get out of church and then quit.

She met Tony and was married about 6 months later. He was murdered by his ex father-in-law 6 months later on May 24. Tony had custody of his two children. Tony’s ex made statements that if Tony was dead his daughter would get custody back. He took the kids from school on field day. When Tony went to get them the man got a shot gun and shot him in his right side. Tony made it into his Explorer and tried to leave. He reloaded and shot into the passenger window, killing him. This man is still walking free. He went to trial and got man slaughter because he claimed self defense. I think because he’s 76 played a big part in it all. He bonded out. Jenny’s best friend’s 4 year old daughter died last year right before Christmas from Spinal Meningcocus.

Another man her and her husband knew died in a car wreck and burnt alive, an old friend from school that she was close too and was her first husband’s aunt was found dead from a drug over dose, then last night we found out that another 37 year old man that we knew died from a drug over dose Friday. They foreclosed on her home, the house that Tony built. She had to go yesterday to get the rest of her things and was crying. By time I got there she was gone and I couldn’t reach her on her cell. I talked with her again last night and she was crying and I could tell she was drinking. She told me she has had very angry and horrible dreams and thoughts of suicide. But she reassured me that she would never do anything because of her kids. She got a DUI and will have to go to court next month the same date that her Ex, the father of her two kids. He also has drugs and alcohol problem but admitted himself into rehab when he found out that his friend died from an over dose.

I don’t know what to do. My sister hasn’t went to counseling and says she wants to live for God but can’t, that she’s too angry. I think she wants to go to church but can’t quit drinking so feels that she would be a hypocrite if she goes. (She hasn’t said that but that’s what I feel) But she won’t admit to having a drinking problem even when the kids says she drinks everyday. Since she won’t admit to having a problem she won’t go to rehab. I’ve talked to her about how when she first got saved that God helped her with all of that and He will again.

I’ve prayed and sent cards, letters, bought her Christian books and burnt her gospel CD’s.

I don’t know what to do to help her and the kids….

Can I have your prayers and your knowledge?

    Thanks,

    Theresa
