Pray for Andrew and Lisa Vandenberg, preparing to leave early in 2008 for Papua New Guinea, where
Andrew will work in construction and Lisa will serve as site volunteer coordinator. As they visit churches,
friends, and family, pray that God will grant them 100% of their financial quota and give them many prayer
partners. Pray also that they will be able to obtain passports, visas, and airline reservations in good time.
Pray about joining the construction crew going to Chiang Mai, Thailand, November 2-19. The team
will be refurbishing the interior and installing a new roof at the linguistics building at Payap University
near Grace International School.
On September 3, Larry Luther, Wycliffe Associates Eurasia area director, will meet with staff members
from the translation center at Horsleys Green, England, to finalize plans for building 30 “en suites”
(double rooms with baths), above the dining room at the center. Pray for wisdom in their discussions
and decisions. This project is scheduled to begin in January and will continue through March, under the
supervision of Chuck Moe, construction superintendent.
Praise that Jan Dunn’s surgery (8/23) went very
well, with hardly any pain. She felt your prayers and thanks you for praying. When the follow-up treatments
are completed, she will have the same procedure on the other leg.
Betty Higham’s mother Bernice (8/23)
is home from the hospital. She was found to have some fractured ribs. Pray for strength and healing for
Bernice and stamina for Betty.
Praise that Nate Fredrickson (6/28) has graduated from a walker to crutches.
He has physical therapy three times a week. Continue to pray for complete healing for Nate.
Craig and Linda Vonch (8/9) report Craig’s stepmother Judy had her second chemotherapy treatment today.
“Judy is losing her hair, but gaining in her trust in God,” write Craig and Linda. “Pray she continues
to seek Jesus by faith, that God will grant physical healing, and that she and Craig’s dad receive the
love of God.”
You’ll be happy to know that Al and Dorothy d’Entremont (1/11) report from France that
Dorothy’s latest MRI on July 13 in Marseille, showed the brain tumor to be stable and unchanged.
Dorothy continues without any symptoms. Praise the Lord!
Maple Gulley (6/14) went home to be with the Lord on August 20. Her family was with her at the time
of her death. Pray for God’s sustaining grace in this time of sorrow.
